Description:

Teenage twins, Sildemund and Meglan, set out to uncover the mystery of an unearthly stone discovered in the desert by their merchant father. Formed from an unknown substance, the stone is associated with an ancient myth, knowledge of which is forbidden upon pain of death. With the stone comes death and destruction, and an emanation that works havoc upon the minds of humans. Searching for it is the monstrous Skalatin, who knows its secret and will stop at nothing to find it.

Through a series of ghoulish murders, a perilous siege and encounters with marauding brigand bands, an outlawed religious cult and more, the young adventurers, with Skalatin ever at their heels, risk all to decipher the mystery of the stone. They have few friends, although the enigmatic and flamboyant Zan-Chassin sorcerer, Ronbas Dinbig of Khimmur, turns up along the way. But even he may know more than he is willing to admit, and his motives may be open to question.
